Michael Feneley is the Director of the Heart Lung Program and Director of Cardiology at St Vincents Hospital, Sydney, and Professor of Medicine (Conjoint) at the University of New South Wales. He was awarded the RT Hall Prize of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand for his doctoral research work on echocardiography and ventricular interaction. He did his post-doctoral training in integrated cardiac physiology at Duke University, USA, as a Fulbright Scholar and NHMRC Fellow. His major clinical expertise is in cardiac imaging, particularly echocardiography and CT coronary angiography. He is the Head of the Cardiac Physiology and Transplantation Division of the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, with his research focused on small animal models of cardiac disease, particularly pressure overload hypertrophy, and stem cell therapy. He is a former President of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.
